Admissions policies

As a small school, MWS considers carefully how to allocate spaces in the classroom to help create a supportive Montessori environment for all students.

Re-enrollment for current students typically opens after Martin Luther King Jr. Day. For new students, applications for the next school year will typically start to be reviewed President’s Day weekend.

Tours are available year round, and new student applications may be accepted during a school year depending on classroom space availability.

As a small school, we value each of our families. Our Admissions policies help create a Montessori environment that supports each student.

New student applications are accepted and processed as classroom space is available. Applications for the following school year will be processed starting after President’s Day weekend.

A non-refundable $100 registration fee is required to initially apply for any program.  Once a student is offered enrollment for any program, a non-refundable fee of $400 is due to secure the classroom space.

For students in need of an IEP/Psychological Report for the Family Empowerment – Unique Abilities  Scholarship, a $50 review fee may be applicable.

If the applications don’t exceed space, we process on a first come first serve basis, in the order we receive a completed application and fee. We look for students that we believe will feel successful in our environment. If application numbers exceed classroom space, we prioritize enrollment in this order:

  • Returning enrolled students

  • Siblings of currently enrolled students

  • Montessori transfer students

  • Morning only Preschool enrollments

  • Afternoon only PreKindergarten enrollments

Yes! We are an accredited Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) provider with the state of Florida. Children who turn four between Jan 1 through Sept. 1 are eligible for pre-kindergarten at MWS with your voucher from Early Learning Coalition.

We offer the VPK classes to currently enrolled students first. We have limited space, and spots fill up quickly. To apply for the VPK certificate, visit the Office of Early Learning website at http://www.floridaearlylearning.com/vpk

Yes. We accept the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship and the Family Empowerment Scholarship through Step Up for Students.

We love getting siblings! If siblings are joining MWS, please complete a separate enrollment packet for each child. Siblings also receive prioritized enrollment.
