MONTESSORI WAY SCHOOL
About us
At Montessori Way School in Orlando, Florida, we are known for our cozy classrooms, nontraditional approach, and close-knit community with parents and students. We welcome children ages three through twelve. We are also accredited to offer VPK.
We strive to provide high quality education in an authentic Montessori environment. All lead teachers have gone through Montessori certification programs. Some are also certified under the American Montessori Society (AMS) and/or the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).
Our students are dedicated, curious, and self-directed. Our teachers create environments catered to each age group’s developmental needs. In our classrooms, students can be themselves, make supportive friends, and challenge themselves academically.
Our Story
Montessori Way School was founded by Primary teacher Nazneen Vicaruddin twenty six years ago. As an experienced teacher, Nazneen, or Ms. V, knew the Montessori method was about more than sensory materials. Maria Montessori’s Primary curriculum, like pouring and washing, were meant to be grounded in a meaningful context–like family and school traditions.
For Mother’s Day, Ms. V hosted a tea party with her Primary students, where they could use their growing independence to show appreciation for their moms. They pulled out chairs for their mom, served treats, and poured drinks.
The tea party was a hit. The children were finding their place as independent learners, as family members, and as a class. Their independence and self-direction was helping them find out how to belong as individuals in a nurturing community.
As dedicated families joined Nazneen’s school, MWS expanded to the beautiful All Saints Lutheran Church. In 2010, the school moved to a new space at the west end of the Colonial Promenade in the Hunter’s Creek area near Orlando. In 2021, the school consolidated to its location in South Orlando. MWS now has Primary and Elementary classrooms through 6th grade.
Ms. V continues to play an active role in the school. Her daughter, Nausheen Vicaruddin, now leads the school with the same forward-thinking vision.
